Palakkad fort is well-preserved fort, build by Hyder Ali of Mysore in 1766. This fort is also known as Tipus Fort, who was son of Hyder Ali. In 1784 after a siege, the British Colonel Fullerton stormed the Fort. Later the fort was goes into the hands of the Zamorin’s troops, and again the British captured it in 1790.
